This, like so many issues, is not binary. Arizona guarantees property owners that their rights will not be reduced by the state without just compensation. This is also a guarantee in the 5th Amendment of our US Constitution. Arguments can be made that as a owner, a short term rental next door is not what I bargained for and thus my rights are being taken (not sure by the state but by my neighboring owner).
To be clear, I am not a big fan of short term rentals, but I am even less of a fan of public takings.
I would say that is a super far stretch. Lake has not given any direct support for air-BNBs.
Air-BNBs should be controlled by HOAs and cities based on neighborhoods and zoning. Not statewide by a governor. If we are going to do everything on such a vast basis, why not control it from Washington?
Besides, with Hobbs ,I stand a chance of getting a house with 25 illegal immigrants living in it, or have a nearby hotel seized for temporary living quarters using my tax dollars. Is that better than Air-BNB? Which would devalue my property more?
I actually do have a STR next door. The police have been there a few times, most memorably after a drunken tenant yelled he was going to shoot the place up. The HOA rules do not allow them but they say they can't enforce it due to the current administration not allowing regulation of them.
You support for Kattie Hobbs in the face of her refusal to debate, scrambling from anything but interviews staged by her campaign, is astounding. Based on her record as secretary of state and her incapability to face a single opponent, I am utterly shocked that you assume she would be better in the highest office in Arizona.
Perhaps your goal is a party pawn, just a seat warmer, like we have in Washington. Then you chose the correct person, good for the party disaster for Arizona.

A.J., he's just telling you who to vote for if you want an Airbnb next door.
Is he wrong about that?
